This is a movie poster that was created in order to
advertise the new James Bond movie, Spectre. This movie poster was created
by the movie industry, but it was created by IMAX, which is a
media institution within the industry as a whole, I know this because
at the bottom of the poster the IMAX logo is present. IMAX is a Canadian Theatre company
which mainly designs and manufactures IMAX cameras and projection systems it
also helps with film development, production and distribution to IMAX theatres
worldwide. Another institution that also helped the production of the movie is
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) which is a corporation that is mainly focused on the
production and distribution of feature films. Spectre had roughly a $250
million budget, suggesting that it is a movie that IMAX and MGM know is going
to gross a lot when it is released otherwise they maybe wouldn't have poured so much money into it. This proved to be true as in its opening weekend alone it made
over $70 million and it had still only been released in the UK. Its overall box
office earnings were $880.7 million, which proves that the James Bond movies
won't be dying out anytime soon. The movie poster denotes
James Bond, as played by Daniel Craig, standing in quite a dominant, alpha male
stance; he has Madeline Swann, played by Léa Seydoux, who is the main Bond
Girl throughout the movie, standing behind him somewhat, inferring that he
is going to be her protector for the duration of the movie. The representations
of men and women in the poster are quite stereotypical, as the woman is shown
as reliant on the man for her protection, and it seems as though he is more
than happy to give it in order to flatter his own ego. The movie posters has a few links
to guns within it; Bond is holding a gun, both of the '007' letterings in the
poster form into a gun at the end and also the title 'Spectre' is the name
of a gun within itself. Which connotes to a viewer that Spectre
is going to be a movie that is packed with action, as many action movies
of today incorporate guns. You could also come to the conclusion that
it is an action movie from the clothes that they are both wearing, they
both seemed to be dressed incredibly formal, which is usually the
cliched look in most secret agent movies, but it allows you to assume that they
both hold some importance within the movie. The '007' lettering they
are standing in front of seems to have a stretched blur running
throughout it, yet on the number '7' the only clear part is of the man wearing
the skull mask. This could suggest that he will play a key role throughout
the movie; skulls are usually used to signify death which
could mean that this is the main antagonist throughout the movie and he
may cause a lot of problems for James Bond. The '007' logo is also repeated twice in
the poster, which could be a marketing strategy so that we see
more of the '007' logo it will stay at the back of our minds and we will
always remember the brand that they have built off of the incredibly
successful franchise; next time we see the 007 logo we will immediately think
of James Bond and depending on our views on this movie, or the previous movies,
we will decide if we are going to watch it or not.

My relationship with the media consists of me spending most of my time on social media, watching tv and videos on sites like Netflix and Youtube. The main social media sites I like to use are Instagram and Tumblr, and I spend quite a lot of time on these sites and the other pages they link me to like Buzzfeed. TumblrInstagramBuzzfeed I prefer to watch my TV shows and Movies through sites like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, when I'm not using social media I will most probably be using one of those two. My favourite movie genres are most probably Action and Horror, and one of my favourite movie directors of all time is Quentin Tarantino. My favourite movie he has directed is most probably Pulp Fiction. The reason I prefer platforms like this is because I like to watch my TV shows all at once, and I prefer to watch whole box sets at a time. check out his filmography
